Grand Prix of Spain To 2016: Results of the free practice sessions

Carlos Sainz Jr.GP of Spain, home race for the national and one of the best circuits of the season. Montmeló hosts here are the official tests of the F1 world 2016 that have started this Friday with free practice 1 and 2 in which there has been some very interesting things to analyze, in addition to all the controversies that we have already been counting these days as the change of Verstappen to Red Bull and the degradation of Kvyat to Toro Rosso, and on what Horner has spoken out claiming that it has been a change due to the discomfort of Daniil by the pressure of Ricciardo, in against of what you said Franz Tost, alleging that he had a lot of tension between Carlos and Max…

Also take forces rumors about the advantage of the Mercedes engine, and that go beyond the turbo split which so much has been spoken, this time due to a system “DiesOtto” that has the best of both worlds: a gasoline and diesel fuel. Although obviously they are petrol engines by regulation, Mercedes ideo this combustion system for cars of the street and that seems to have “adapted” to the F1 to get more power and less consumption. The engine HCCI working as a petrol engine at full performance, while it behaves like a diesel working by compression when it is not full performance.

Fernando Alonso 2016This system provides greater efficiency and Mercedes have an advantage, since he was the inventor and takes a bit more work on it, but it is known that Ferrari has also worked since this winter in such a system (hence the reliability problems of the engine of this start of the season), but it is unknown what happens with Renault and Honda. Although once you know the rumor, it sure will work to implement it if it brings advantages. It seems that the secrets are short in F1, and soon spread out with adaptations in other equipment, although this is not always the same thing to implement a technology in harmony with a design that adapt it a posteriori.

Well, returning to the free practice, little seems to have changed in terms of the head of the platoon, except for the tremendous pressure that has a Ferrari to win here. It seems that it is advertised heads that could roll in Maranello and they need it like water of may water that has also come in a mild form in some areas in the second session of free practice sessions at Montmeló without any effect to the track. Carlos and Fernando have managed to get their cars between the Top10 and we hope that tomorrow we stay there for classification and much better in the race…

And by the way, speaking of showers, many criticized my article and has been the subject of debate today in Movistar F1, so that wasn’t going so wrong-headed as you think they are many…

In the second session of free we’ve seen that Ferrari have been interspersed with the Mercedes. In Maranello, as had been confirmed by Marc Gené, have had very good sensations and claim to have better pace than Mercedes, for what they trust to be more competitive than they have ever been… I Hope that is not a part of the game that started the past year on the part of Mercedes to be earn for your own benefit.

Well, commented on this, saying that tomorrow we expect a qualifying session interesting, not to mention the free practice 3, which we will also continue to. Here they all tend to introduce major improvements, since it is the ideal circuit to test it and the door to the european season, so that the parts arrive in mass historically. With this I mean that there will have to be more attentive when you all put the cards on the table and see if there is any change of positions.
