Greaves Motorsport withdraws a LMP2 unfortunately for Merhi

Roberto Merhi is still looking for a sports project of face-to-2016 and within the options that drove the pilot castellón was to compete with the team Greaves Motorsport. In fact, the Spanish rider tested during the test organised by Dunlop at MotorLand Aragón, the two LMP2 formation. Merhi climbed during this test the Ligier JS P2 – Nissan that the team has registered in the ELMS and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in addition to also try the Gibson 015S – Nissan, the prototype that sported among the list of cars bookings of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

And we talked in the past since Greaves Motorsport has withdrawn the registration of this Gibson 015S – Nissan, LMP2 had with Alex Brundle as a designated pilot. The cancellation of this project implies that this prototype leaves the list of cars bookings of the ‘race of races’. In addition, this LMP2 did not appear in the registered list of the ELMS, which certainly is a surprise, maybe higher since the Gibson 015S – Nissan of Greaves is the current champion of the European Le Mans Series thanks to the work of Jon Lancaster, Gary Hirsch and Björn Wirdheim.

In this way, Greaves Motorsport focuses its efforts on the Ligier JS P2 with which it will compete in the ELMS and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This vehicle seems destined except surprise, last-minute Memo Rojas, Julien Canal and a third pilot Gold Classification that has not yet been announced. Although this seat is still free, it is unlikely that Merhi is in the plans of the team. The ex-pilot of Formula 1 must continue to look for a project of face to the season 2016, and the options are increasingly limited.
