The insipid first free practice of Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi ended up with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg to the front, with more than half a second over a Ferrari (virtually the same as the rest of the season), the Kimi Räikkönen.

The characteristics of this circuit and the Grand Prix itself, for hours, make these first-free are completely irrelevant when dealing with the rest of the weekend. The temperatures in this session were much higher than what is expected in the rest of the Grand Prix, so many teams spent the session to test parts for the next season.

For the rest, little to tell, more than a fault in the Lotus of Jolyon Palmer (which replaced back to Romain Grosjean), who left him in the pit lane for almost the entire hour and a half. On the part of the spaniards, Fernando Alonso was 14th, with just over two second of disadvantage, and Carlos Sainz 16th, with almost two and a half seconds.
