The scandal emissions of the Volkswagen Group only just uncover, and has already shaken to its foundations to the automotive industry worldwide. The consequences of the scandal are still unknown, but a massive revision to call – among other consequences for the industry as a whole – is given for granted. The decision has not been taken by Müller individually, but by the Board of the Volkswagen Group, which as we told you a few days ago, has been strengthened and gaining more control over all the companies in the group. The three names that have fallen out of favor are Ulrich Hackenberg (by Audi), Heinz-Jakob Neusser (by Volkswagen) and Wolfgang Hatz in Porsche. The three deny any involvement in the scandal and claim complete ignorance.
However, Ulrich Hackenberg was the right hand of Martin Winterkorn – some suggest that was his confidante – and was responsible for development of Volkswagen between 2007 and 2013, years in which the current scandal was conceived. For its part, Wolfgang Hatz was one of those most responsible for development of engines throughout the Volkswagen Group, from 2007 to 2011 . Some sources report that one of the former officers would be taking legal action against what it considers an unjustified purge.
It is beginning to glimpse a complicated power play after the “Dieselgate” while the group is still looking for leaps and bounds a solution that can alleviate excessive emissions of 11 million engines 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI family EA189 . A level of emissions that Bosch had warned for years when supplied software to the Volkswagen Group, with the purpose of being used only for the development of the family EA189 and not standard on these 11 million cars.
