Honda 4-Motor EV Concept: much more than a NSX electric with four motors for the Pikes Peak 2016
Honda will be present in the next Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2016: the competition will take place this June 26, and there will participate a spectacular prototype derived from the Honda NSX. Fully electric, this Honda 4-Motor EV Concept falls within the class ‘Electric Modified’, where it has already won the win a Honda CR-Z electrical in last year’s edition.
This Honda 4-Motor EV it is, however, three times more powerful, releasing an evolution of the system Super Handling All Wheel Drive, with four electric motors. In place of two motors -one for each axis motor, the Honda EV adopts four motors, one per wheel, controlling the distribution of engine torque independently, and allowing for more traction to each wheel individually.
The circuit of Pikes Peak consists of 156 turns, in which the motor is absolutely crucial to mark a good time. Tetsuya Yamano will be the pilot of this spectacular prototype design inspired by the Honda NSX, which adopts a spectacular aerodynamics that has little to do with the production model, incorporating a huge rear wing, diffuser and aerodynamic spoiler lower front.
in Addition to this Honda EV Concept 4-Engine, in Pikes Peak 2016 will also compete two Acura NSX much closer to the Honda NSX street, piloted by brothers James Robinson and Nick Robinson. Will participate in the categories Time Attack 1 Time Attack 2, keeping the three electric motors of the NSX -in addition to the V6 – and incorporating minimal modifications to the competition, like a sport exhaust or the mandatory security elements.
