In Competition: Hyundai officially unveils their new weapon: the i20 WRC 2016

Today has been the day appointed by Hyundai to introduce its new World Rally Car for 2016, the great hope of a season that presents on the role even more highly diluted than it was the 2015. He has done so with new developments, both in the decoration that will be used by the team official as well as in the organization chart the structure of Korean where Thierry Neuville is maintained within the team, but will no longer be the undisputed number one.

There is no surprise that Hyundai give the baton between their pilots. the arrival of The new Hyundai i20 WRC five-door and the good state of form from the spaniard to the belgian, in addition to the emergence of Hayden Paddon seems to have led to the men led by Michel Nandan to take the decision of their three pilots share the burden of leading the team.

Both the name in the windows, as studied order of presentation of the riders in alphabetical form (Dani Sordo, Hayden Paddon and finally Thierry Neuville) already made clear. It was confirmed that there will be three units in all of the rallies next season, but also made the statements that did Nandan during the Rally of Finland in which it claimed that would not have three units of the new car in Monte-Carlo. The victim on this occasion is Paddon, who should come out with a version 2015, while in Sweden there already are three i20 WRC 2016.

The i20 WRC has not only shown a new skin, much more aggressively, but keeping the base color and the sponsors (as well as a place for self-promotion with the N in honor of the department of Namyang), but has also demonstrated during the test a considerable step forward in terms of stability and traction. The own drivers as well confirm it, giving them a lot of confidence to attack in the areas faster, but also warn of the consequent loss of agility in the areas most twisty with the version of five doors, much less nervous than it was the previous car.

Next to it, it has been seen the interim version of the Hyundai i20 R5, car that will arrive in the middle of the next season and which will only be allocated to teams/drivers clients, having no time of official programme in the WRC2 or ERC in the horizon (at least not in full form). In the case of Kevin Abbring, the Dutch will be in charge of the development of the same, together with the World Rally Car for the season 2017, and in addition you will enjoy as already stated in a program reduced in 2016 with the World Rally Car (expected second half of year).
