Italy – December 2016: The Renault Clio is still very strong

Second consecutive podium in Italy for the Renault Clio

registrations in the Italian market maintained its pace of steady growth with 124.438 units placed during the month of December, which represents a 13.1% growth. Therefore the year 2016 ends with 1.824.968 units sold (+15,8%), the best result since 2010.

The stability of sales in Italy is also reflected in the ranking, where we do not find big surprises. The podium is composed by the same models that in November and placed in the same order, with the Fiat Panda which is situated in the highest as could not be otherwise.

Lancia Ypsilon achieved the second position in a market where it collects 99% of all their sales in Europe. For its part, the Renault Clio keeps his good run and to retain the bronze medal. It is clear that the popular French model has sold very well its restyling, that is succeeding in Italy.

sales of The Mercedes A-Class up a fantastic 74%

Fiat 500X is the only model in the Top 10 to lose ground compared with the previous year, seeing how their demand has fallen 13%. For its part, the Volkswagen Tiguan (15) exceeds Nissan Qashqai (16) in the struggle to be the compact SUV more popular and for that, the German model has climbed to an impressive 331% compared to December of 2015.

Among the manufacturers, Fiat remains in good shape, taking more than a fifth of the enrollment totals of the market. Volkswagen is second with a sharp rise (+23%) and the third place is for Renault. Also note the great result of Mercedes (+40%), who stays with the eighth square.
