Jacques Villeneuve will not continue with Venturi Formula E

Jacques Villeneuve and the Venturi Formula E Team separated their paths. The canadian rider and the team monaco have reached an agreement to break their contractual relationship after the dispute of the first three ePrix of the season. The poor performance of the Formula one World Champion of 1997 have been the main reason for the rupture of this relationship, according to ‘Motorsport.com’. Jacques Villeneuve no longer will be competing in the ePrix of Buenos Aires, try to dispute the 6 of February in the Puerto Madero in the argentine capital. The team has announced Mike Conway as its substitute.

Jacques Villeneuve is a driver of hunger, he has always demonstrated. Since leaving Formula 1 we’ve seen him race in Le Mans, Nascar, FIA GT, V8 Supercars, Indycar or Stock Car in Brazil, but without doubt, his most notable was in the World Rallycross. A momentum which, however, have not translated into a good performance in Formula E. The return of the canadian to the cars has ended abruptly, while that for Mike Conway compatibilizar√° its presence in Formula E with his program in the WEC with Toyota.

And that is the balance sheet of Jacques Villeneuve in Formula E has been very discreet. At the controls of the Venturi VM200-FE-01, he finished fourteenth in the ePrix in Beijing, the first race in the category. For his part, was eleventh in Putrajaya after losing time in the stop boxes. In spite of this, his worst performance came in the ePrix of Punta del Este where no one came to take the exit because of a crash in qualifying that caused irreparable damage to the car. In that same weekend, had an accident during a test.
