John Filippi will compete with a Citroën C-Elysée in the
season 2017 WTCC after the announcement of his signing by the team Sébastien Loeb
Racing. In this way, the pilot’s natural Corsica will be at the controls of
one of the cars that have dominated the World of Cars in the last few years. To
21 years old, John Filippi will face his fourth season in the WTCC, first away from the team Campos Racing, formation with which he made his debut with a Seat Leon
1.6 T and with the one who has competed in the last two years at the controls of a
Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1.
With this movement, John Filippi joins Tom Chilton in
Sébastien Loeb Racing, which a priori will have the largest number of
units of the Citroën C-Elysée on the grid and therefore will be one of the
large opposing forces to the official teams of Honda and Volvo. This condition
places John Filippi in a perfect position to take a leap of quality and
sneak regularly in the points. This will have a Citroën
C-Elysee will wear the colors of their Oscaro, its main sponsor, and that it will prove for the first time during a test in Spain this month.
After confirming his signing, John Filippi wrote: “I’m
very happy. I’m going to compete with a car that has shown great things and that
more importantly, with a very strong team. TI am eager to begin the work
with the team and my engineer. The winter has been long, so I only have
want to enjoy the atmosphere of the paddock and feel great sensations at the wheel
of the new car. Right now I can not set a target. I’ll know more after
from the first tests. be cautious although driving a car
so good, because the biggest challenge will be to exploit to the 100%“.
