The presence of Jost Capito, the team from Woking has been brief and quite anonymous and now a spokesman for the team has confirmed the end of his work as Executive Director of McLaren-Honda.
The German came to the team last September after being announced earlier in the year. Its obligations as the head of Volkswagen Motorsport delayed their arrival and, after the departure of Ron Dennis, his position had been called into question considered that his position was very similar to that played by the French Eric Boullier, Athletic Director.
Zak Brown, the new manager of the team after the departure of Ron Dennis, has evaluated the different roles of each member of the formation of the british and finally has decided that there is no room for Capito in the team, as explained by a spokesman.
“Jost Capito came to McLaren after four successful years with Volkswagen Motorsport. was looking to rebuild a winning team and concentrate fully on building a McLaren competitive with the objective of achieving the World Championship”.
“unfortunately, we have not been able to find a point in common with Jost about what it takes to make the team successful again. As a result, we have agreed to leave McLaren Racing, and now will consider other options. We wish you success in your future goals”.
