The Geneva Auto show in march 2017 has been the scene
chosen by Kia to unveil to the public the expected hybrid variant
plug the crossover of the south Korean manufacturer. The new Kia Niro PHEVS is already a reality, and although to the naked eye
it may seem that there have been many changes. Nothing could be further from the reality. Along

Taking a look at the images of the passenger compartment, we see that the new Kia Niro Hybrid Plug-in you can go upholstered with leather with blue stitching or a finishing of blue for the frames of the air outlets in the dashboard. This new version also incorporates a TFT screen of 4.2 inches in the box of instrumentation that displays key information about the propulsion system as the state of charge of the battery.
At the level of equipment, it enjoys all the elements already incorporated by the Kia Niro, as the latest system of info-entertainment Kia accompanied by a touch screen, the integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay next to the connectivity services Kia. It is also important to remember the different types of driving aids that will ensure safe driving and comfortable as are electronic stability control, assisted emergency braking, cruise control or smart detection dead angle.
The new Kia Niro PHEV has an electric range top at 55 km.
Going to the section mechanical new Kia Niro PHEVS, their hybrid system is composed by an engine of 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder with 105 HP and 147 Nm of torque along with a electric motor 44,5 kW (60 HP), an increase of 32 kW (43 HP) with respect to the hybrid version standard. Combined, the propulsion system throws 141 HP and 265 Nm of maximum torque. And with that we have a gearbox of double clutch and six-speed. Thanks to this mechanism, the Niro plug-in hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10,8 seconds.
lithium polymer battery with a capacity of 8,9 kWh allows you to enjoy a autonomy mode 100% electric superior to the 55 km (cycle NEDC). Combined, the Niro PHEVS fixed CO2 emissions of 30 grams per kilometer.
¿When it will come to the market? The new Kia Niro PHEV will go on sale in Europe during the third quarter of 2017 and will be produced in the plant that the brand has in Kwasung, South Korea. For now it is unknown the price that will have even Kia because we anticipate that it will have standard warranty of seven years or 150,000 kilometres. The battery of the hybrid system is also included.
