Dorna has been working in recent months to offer a new business model in MotoGP in which to protect the interests of the manufacturers and the teams that are involved in the category. This work has arisen a contract that guarantees a series of guidelines and sports techniques in order to have equal competition and equal among the manufacturers who register their bikes in the premier class of World championship Motorcycle racing. KTM has been the first to sign this contract with Dorna that spans five seasons of face-to formalize his debut in MotoGP in 2017.
The signing of this agreement has taken place in the framework of the Grand Prix of San Marino and in the same have been present Carmelo Ezpeleta as the CEO of Dorna Sports, and Pit Beirer, head of KTM Motorsport. the rest of the brands to sign this association, since in some way been
been the manufacturers themselves who have lobbied for it. Therefore, Honda,
Yamaha, Ducati, Aprilia and Suzuki should not take a long to sign this new
contract for five years.
