Kuba Giermaziak returns to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The pilot
Polish played for the second time the ‘race of races’ after competing in
2015 with the team JMW Motorsport and a Ferrari 458 Italia GT2. On this occasion,
Giermaziak will make his debut in the LMP2 to be chosen by Greaves Motorsport to complete their alignment on the 24
Hours of Le Mans and the European Le Mans Series (ELMS). Kuba will be team
with Memo Rojas, a three-time winner of the 24 hours of Daytona, and with Julien
Channel, world champion of LMP2 in 2015, with G-Drive Racing.
despite its presence at Le Mans in 2015, during the last years the sports program of Kuba Giermaziak has been focused on the Porsche Supercup. After contesting the Formula Renault 2.0 in different categories, since 2010, has competed in the category brand of Porsche, with the team VERVA Racing Team, the structure that has allowed him to shine in the last two years. In fact, Kuba Giermaziak was proclaimed runner-up of the Supercup in 2014 after adding three victories, although he could not do anything with Earl Bamber, defending champion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
despite the withdrawal of the registration of the Gibson-Nissan 015S, Greaves Motorsport will defend his title in the ELMS with a single LMP2. The training will give further technical assistance to Krohn Racing. In any case, the arrival of Kuba Giermaziak is almost a personal stake in Tim Greaves, team owner, after its good role in the test performed in Motorland and with the participation of Roberto Merhi: “We have followed the career of Kuba in the Supercup and we believe that you will have to adapt to the prototypes very fast. Has proven its rhythm, was the fastest in our test at Aragon, when he tested the Ligier and also was very relaxed”.
