After the positive debut of Carlos Sainz at the wheel of the Toro Rosso STR12, the second day of tests has passed on a good path for the formation of Faenza. Although the team has been forced to losing a couple of hours to perform various checks techniques in the single-seater, the training has been able to complete the rest of the day with no reliability issues. Thanks to this, Daniil Kvyat has been able to complete 68 laps, by signing a best time of 1:22.956. The best registry of the Russian pilot has come on soft tyres.
Leaving aside the two hours that the STR12 has had to be inside the box, Daniil Kvyat closed the day with positive feelings: “Was pretty good, we have given enough laps today. We would have liked to do a little more, but not bad. We’ll see how tomorrow goes”. in The end, the Russian pilot was quite pragmatic in relation to the working time in the box: “Are test, had to make checks for caution in the car. you need to try everything twice before you leave. It is true that we lost some laps, but in general I can say that it has been a day quite positive”.
“it Is difficult to know where we are, because they all seem to
quick,” has been claimed Kvyat, then add: “at The end do not know what
they are testing the rest, so it’s hard to really tell the position in
we find ourselves in. It is a little early to see who stands, although I think
Ferrari and Mercedes seem fast, or at least that is what you can see
from the lap times”.
Despite the doubts of Daniil Kvyat at the time of defining the
position STR12 respect to their direct rivals, the Russian pilot has
shown more concise when it comes to evaluating the new Renault engine: “is Not
bad in terms of power, although as I said before it is difficult to compare with
other computers because the entire world is working with set-up of the engine
different. I don’t know where we are with respect to all the world, but the engine seems to
good for now. When we focus on the performance, we will see if there is a step
