When Geely Holding Group is made with Volvo nobody knew who he was. Only had in our minds a thought and was not to disappear from the Swedish brand as it did with its compatriot Saab when General Motors got rid of it in a bad way. However far from to feed that fear Geely immediately took charge of the situation and has again put Volvo in the place in which Ford Motor Company was never able to locate it.
In a few years has managed to rejuvenate the entire range manufacturer’s product, has maintained the employment that the signature provided in Sweden and has committed to that will continue to be a brand that is eminently european. However a price had to be paid to be your new array. This is based on share platforms, powertrains and many of the new advances in active and passive safety that is developing Volvo.
however that both brands start to share these components still do not affect too much to Volvo since the Swedish company is already a brand established in the market and Geely still has a lot to do. However, the chinese are very smart and surely their products will grow in steps rather than bounds. But for now we must focus on the new brand that will launch Geely and Volvo, Lynk&Co.
As we have already said Geely has an image non-existent in the mind of the consumer west and the few adjectives that you may receive are not very good at being a chinese firm. However the image of Volvo is very strong and the customers associated to a type of vehicle very concrete. In view of this pigeonholing, Geely and Volvo would have thought to launch a new brand, called Lynk&Co to launch a new type of vehicle or mobility.
The brand new already have an active website and in it we see several videos on how it could be the mobility of the future. Your presentation will be in Berlin during the second half of October, although the exact date is yet to confirm. Alain Vissier, vice president of sales and marketing of Volvo, will be the master of ceremonies and thanks to your explanations, we can better understand this new project.
