While the seventh generation of the Ford Fiesta wheel road with views to debut in 2017, showing a design much closer to that of the Focus, its model and namesake of competition is also about to make his first kilometres. M-Sport has announced that the first test of the Fiesta RS WRC 2017 will take place in mid-July, taking advantage of the break competitive between the rally of Poland and Germany. However, this first specific test for the next season will not take place with the new model itself, but with a hybrid version based on the car 2016.
In this aspect, Malcolm Wilson has explained that will be a chassis of 2016 that will equip the majority of the mechanical components of the next season. In this way, the team can begin work on the performance of the 1.6 engine Turbo flange intake of 36 mm in the new system of cooling or in the back of the center differential. In spite of this, M-Sport will have to wait to have a chassis tailored to the seventh generation of the Ford Fiesta three-door, since the brand is not yet presented the production model.
In this aspect, M-Sport builds up to the same delay that
Hyundai Motorsport in its test, since both formations are living a situation
similar around the premiere of the new production cars. With the two
teams completing their first tests of the specific with a hybrid model between the
configuration of 2016 and 2017 in this summer break, both will have that
a comeback in the second half of the year once they are able to use the new
chassis. The competition is fierce and Citroën, Toyota and Volkswagen build up already
hundreds of kilometres with their new World Rally Car, specific units
adapted to the rules of 2017.
