The new generation of World Rally Cars has caused Mads Ostberg has one of their seasons more irregular in recent years. Away from M-Sport and Citroën, the pilot Norwegian has resorted to a part of the team Adapts to compete with a Ford Fiesta RS WRC 2017 under the umbrella of the computer OneBet Jipocar World Rally Team Martin Prokop. A structure born of the union of two projects that has not been finished off as both Mads Ostberg and Martin Prokop have been changing his programme in the WRC result of various circumstances, technical and personal.
Mads Ostberg missed the Monte carlo Rally, by the delays accumulated M-Sport to deliver the Ford Fiesta RS WRC ’17. He made his debut in the Rally of Sweden with a little fortune and with the birth of his son he had not competed in the Rally of Mexico. The lack of test kilometres on asphalt with the new World Rally Car carried him to cancel his participation in the Tour de Corse, a move that the Norwegian is going to return to repeat. After competing with success -and score points – in Argentina, Portugal, Italy and Poland, Mads Ostberg will change from vehicle to face the Rally of Germany.
According to ‘Rally-Style’, Mads Ostberg will compete with a Ford Fiesta R5 in Germany. The Norwegian will fight in WRC2 against the main drivers of the category, since the appointment of the germans is one of the obligatory for all participants of this class. A movement that is re-motivated by the lack of kilometres on asphalt, but also by the sponsor of Ostberg. However, OneBet will include the class WRC2 in their betting offer. Despite this step back, it is expected that Ostberg can complete more rallies in the category queen in the final stretch of the season.
