The relationship between Kevin Magnussen and the leaders of Renault is not going to end in the best possible way, something that has become clear after explaining the pilot Danish the reasons for his departure from the French team.

Magnussen says it was his decision and that “I had an offer but it was not good enough to accept it. If they had been committed to a longer contract, probably would have taken a lot more seriously”, stated the pilot Danish before the press moved to Interlagos.

Renault has made offers to many riders and, finally, have been Nico Hülkenberg and Jolyon Palmer who have been accepted and will be the team riders in 2017. For Magnussen, the team did not believe in him enough. “I Had the feeling that he had not committed, taking so much time (make an offer) and offering the position to many pilots. At a given time, I’ve heard that the Pope had an offer! It was all a bit tangled and I preferred to leave”. Had a lot to do with the feelings that I had with the address. If they had more commitment and decision would have been different. But I’m happy with the way that you have passed everything finally”.

But Frederic Vasseur, team Boss does not think the same thing and commented to Motorsport that there were several conversations between the two throughout the season, even when the performance of the Danish began to drop. “we Talk about the future several times during the season, but if you had the feeling that I was not committed it is strange to me. We talked about contracts but, at one point, we also spoke with Jo (Jolyon Palmer). But I had to talk him out of the sports part of it to know exactly what was going on in the track and at the same time to create an agreement”.

Magnussen serña confirmed in the next few hours as a new pilot for Haas F1, and the dane does not hide that it will be so. Kevin believes the u.s. team will grow and will allow you to test your mettle in Formula 1. “I Hope it goes well, I think it will be competitive, is my feeling. I am looking for a place to test my courage and do a good job. I think I can have it next year”.
