After the news emerged on the 20th of January, there was concern among many of the followers of Assetto Corsa, the popular driving simulator created by Kunos Simulazioni. And is that Digital Bros has acquired the totality of the company that it was owned by Stefano Casillo and Marco Massarutto, although as the latter has explained, in a letter to his followers, is not more than a step in the right direction.
Massarutto argues that nothing will change in Kunos and the same working team will continue to develop the simulator, but with the advantage of having greater financial support and resources from Digital Bros, which already is responsible for the publication of the title on PlayStation 4 and XBox 1.
“From now, Kunos Simulazioni is part of Digital Bros, and Stefano (Casillo) and I are shareholders of Digital Bros. That is all, yet we are the founders of Kunos, we are still within keeping of our respective positions and responsibilities, with some exceptions: the budget that we will handle there will never be more than our earnings, but of Digital Bros, our biggest fan of Assetto Corsa. Are kept the same policies, strategies, DNA, development team, goals, . So, if the news had not been made public, nobody would have noticed a change because, from the point of view of the SimRacer/Gamer, nothing is going to change.”
“For all those who fear that a piece of your world SimRacing has left, let me remember that Digital Bros has released under his label 505Games, the console version of Assetto Corsa and I don’t think that PS4 and XBox1 is a game of arcade: definitely not. The only news that should interest you the most is that from now on, we have more resources, time and power to do our work, even better than before”.
