Marco Wittmann, poleman phantom of the DTM in Moscow

Marco Wittmann has joined the best time in the first qualifying session of the DTM in Moscow, but will not come out from the pole to have a penalty of five positions from Norisring. The driver of BMW has managed to a record of 1:27.035, enough to overcome a 120-mils René Rast, which inherits the first place on grill. Mike Rockenfeller finished in third position, but will come second, making clear that it is well at the physical level despite the injury which drags on his left foot. Bad session for Mercedes, any time only Gary Paffett has crept into the Top 10.

The sunny sky over the Moscow Raceway contrasted with the rarefied environment that is living the DTM in the path Russian root of the change by surprise -and not a priori approved by the own brands – in the system for calculating the weights of compensation. With the controversy served, the pilots tried to forget this fact and make a quick turn. The first to make a reference it would really be was Rene Rast, while the Marco Wittmann did not took a long time to dial the final 1:27.035 when it had not even crossed the equator of the session. The own René Rast consolidated his second position at this point, knowing that I could be pole.

Although some riders improved their personal times, no one could beat Wittmann and Rast. In fact, Mike Rockenfeller had to settle with the second virtual location after stepping with two wheels of the Audi RS 5 DTM on the gravel, everything, when they came in time to be able to fight for pole position. Even so, the German will come out well in the first row just ahead of Augusto Farfus, while Timo Glock has been given the task of closing the top five positions. This fact has left the leader Mattias Ekström at the sixth position, for which the Swedish, Jamie Green and the Wittmann will come together on the grill.

Tom Blomqvist, Gary Paffett and Loïc Duval have been riders who have closed the Top 10, so that only Paffett has managed to sneak his Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM among the top ten classified. A disappointing result for the brand of Stuttgart in all senses, but in the one who has to do a lot of the baggage of the compensation and the regulation that has been followed up to now for your application. Be that as it may, Edo Mortara reflected the frustration of the signature of the star with a track output mortgaged their options. On the other side of the box, Lucas Auer could not evade the last positions of the grill.
