The 2016 has been a very intense season and, judging by the voting that has made our writing of Formula 1, the World Champion this year has not been the biggest things has been shown to.
Max Verstappen is the winner of our ranking of the most prominent drivers of the season 2016 Formula 1 and has done so thanks to, among other things, his victory in the Spanish Grand Prix in his debut with Red Bull or their seven podiums overall for the year.
only one point has been classified Lewis Hamilton, being the rider with the most wins, pole positions and podium finishes of the season, has been considered superior to Nico Rosberg, which with less mechanical problems it has obtained the title of Champion of the World.
The first, ‘the rest’, that is to say, the pilot with the most votes does not belong to Mercedes or Red Bull, has been Fernando Alonso, with the McLaren has managed to sneak in this year among the top ten in the general classification of pilots and thanks to the votes of our editors, has overcome the other Spanish driver, Carlos Sainz. The madrid Toro Rosso has established itself this season as one of the great talents of the Formula 1 and has overtaken another that has overtaken many covers this year: the mexican Sergio Perez.
The great disappointments of the season have certainly been the drivers of Ferrari and reflects our ranking, in which the note exotic appear Pascal Wehrlein -candidate to replace Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes, Felipe Nasr and Stoffel Vandoorne, just participated in a race, but won the first point of the season for McLaren.

in the Case of the champion, may seem like an obvious choice, but in the computation of the season, no one has put together the victories and the intelligence in the head as Nico Rosberg. Yes, he has made costly errors throughout the year, but your stamina and your ability to return to the load even when Hamilton had already made a small mattress is very representative. It is very difficult to beat one of the three best riders of the decade, and Rosberg has done it playing all their tricks, winning when I should have. You may not have been the fastest rider, but if you have been the best.
Daniel Ricciardo has returned to its level of 2014 with almost no effort. The competence of their peers seems to espolearle. The pilot more clean when run overtaking, fast, constant, completing more laps than anyone…
Lewis Hamilton has left the situation escaped from the hands. The mechanical problems did not help, but your performance at specific points has been far from what is expected from a three-time, and not have won the World cup with one of the best cars in history is a small spot in a history almost pristine.
Sebastian Vettel can do much more. Certain it is Räikkönen has recovered this year the instinct killer not seen since 2008, but the German has languished along with the performance of the car, and their handling of the situations in the race has been the less cuestionable.

The figures are eloquent: the World of 2016 -as already happened in the two previous seasons – was a thing of two: the pilots Mercedes Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. Before a domain so overbearing, is appreciated breath of fresh air that help you cope with the monotony. That’s why, Max Verstappen is my driver of the year.
More than blow, it has been a hurricane. Already in his debut season with Toro Rosso, the Dutch had given ample samples of his precocious talent. But this year has gone much further, confirming that we are facing a champion in power, and a pilot in terms of setting a time.
The victory in Spain, in his first race with Red Bull; the sensational overtaking Nico Rosberg at Silverstone; the comeback to the fourth place in Abu Dhabi… are some times reported that they pale in the face of what Max took place in Brazil. 25 glorious minutes under the rain in which, after being delayed by the strategic error of your computer, traced from the fourteenth to the third position in just 17 laps, using drawn that no one else dared to look on the flooded tarmac of Interlagos.
it was Not all rosy. In particular, his sometimes questionable defensive maneuvers, which they took out of their boxes to more of a rival. But what in my opinion can’t be denied is that Verstappen -it is good to remember, still a teenager– has led to more emotions in two seasons that a great many pilots with many years of career espaldas.

By far Nico Rosberg has been the champion of this season, I think that Lewis Hamilton has been shown to be faster in general -both in qualifying and in the race – and his consistency at the time of obtaining results has suffered more for reasons of reliability by demerits own.
The case of Max Verstappen has been different, because many of their discrete -and limited – results have been the consequence of one’s own mistakes, but I believe that his youth and inexperience highlighted exponentially all the good that has been done, especially considering the circumstances that led to his promotion to Red Bull with the temporada has already started.
special Mention deserves also Carlos Sainz, has completed a season very close to perfection with two points to consider: one against and one in favor. The pilots that precede it in the list have struggled for wins and that always gives a plus of pressure, but the spaniard has managed to defend himself with a maturity beyond her experience in the pack of lions that this year has been the intermediate zone of the grill. Something very similar can be said in the case of Fernando Alonso, but with the detail that the spaniard has ample experience in all kinds of situaciones.

The presence of Max Verstappen in the highest ” is required. It is the great irruption of the year, the pilot that has animated the championship and that has given entertainment and spice to the feud between the Mercedes. If the Red Bull of 2017 is born, you can be a strong candidate for the title without a doubt. For similar reasons Daniel Ricciardo is just below: it has been the constant ‘fly’ behind the ear of the pilots dominators of the year, and both he and the Dutch have made the most of his car.
I Put to Lewis Hamilton so down, just behind the champion and Rosberg, because the start of the season, he weighed too much. Lack of concentration, trouble adjusting to the new clutch and its constant complaints and suspicions have been on the verge of squandering the superiority of the Mercedes. Alonso and Sainz have taken their cars well above the real possibilities of performance expected of the McLaren and the Toro Rosso, while the Ferrari’s have been deflated little by little throughout the season.
finally, Bottas and Perez have been two constants in the middle area of the table, especially in the case of the mexican, whose 101 points have been vital to the fourth position of Force India.

Lewis Hamilton has lost the title, but it has been superior to Rosberg. He has made mistakes during the season, but has also managed to overcome the problems of others to his riding. Has demonstrated a mentality very strong and at times has taken crazy to your partner, box. His intelligent management of the times of the race in Abu Dhabi was the best sample of your domain, although you would be left without prize.
it is Not easy to change your team in mid-season, nor is to win your first Grand Prix with a race car again, or starring in a real recital in Brazil. Max Verstappen has come to stay and without a doubt is the revelation of the 2016. Nico Rosberg has studded his best season in Formula 1 and everything has been on the verge of succumbing to his team-mate. The pressure has been mined, and has lived a very difficult year, although getting the título.
Daniel Ricciardo, without making any noise, is always there. Fernando Alonso has shown flashes over the car, Carlos Sainz has squeezed the Toro Rosso beyond their means, and Sergio Perez is the great architect of the success of Force India, being more consistent than Hülkenberg.
Felipe Nasr took advantage of the only opportunity he had had with a very poor Sauber to give him the only point of the season to their team, a point that is worth gold. Pascal Wehrlein won the only point for Manor -although not quite bright in the duel against Ocon -, and Stoffel Vandoorne managed to score points in the only race, in which he played. It is not easy to debut with a car poor as the McLaren of first year and end up scratching a punto.
