Mazda CX-9: a great SUV that saves on a big secret, but that we will not see in Spain

With you the new Mazda CX-9. Some time ago I came notifying, Mazda is located in his particular golden age. Golden in regards to design, technology and engineering. And probably this new Mazda CX-9 is one of the maximum exponents of how it has evolved the brand from Hiroshima up to be what it is today. The CX-9 is a great SUV, with three rows of seats and seven seats, the best design KODO and – as a great novelty – a motor SKYACTIV-G Turbo that I assure you will give much to talk about. The big problem: this Mazda CX-9 will not be traded, in principle, in Spain.

last year, Mazda decided to release a limited run of 100 units of the CX-9 in Spain. Let us recall that this model is not marketed in the western Europe.

Although the strategy of Mazda’s current goes through the launch of global models, which are designed similarly to Europe, the united States and Asia, the Mazda CX-9 continues to be a product reserved for other markets. It is true that the Mazda CX-9, or at least its predecessor, came to be marketed in Spain, although in a limited edition to only 100 units. Sometimes Mazda has used this technique, to bring a fleet of vehicles which were not originally sold in Spain to cater to a select group of clients. A great idea, no doubt.

But what is the most interesting thing about this Mazda CX-9?

What is more interesting, in my opinion, and the point at which it can make the difference with its rivals, what we have in their aesthetics. Mazda has taken to its last consequences the self-named design KODO. This great SUV that exceeds 5 meters in length – and still is 3 centimeters shorter than its predecessor – has a prominent hood and elongated, and a huge grille that merges with the headlamps to replicate the wings of the emblem of Mazda.

Equip headlight LED complete and tires between 18 and 20 inches.

To board, the design retains many similarities with its smaller brothers, especially due to the fact that you have a screen for the entertainment system, deployed on the dashboard, available in seven and eight inches. In terms of technology, there are a host of driving aids, to control angles dead, the involuntary change of lane, the automatic connection of the projector beam headlights, the distance of safety, smart cruise control, etc., etc.

But what I liked most, without a doubt, because it will surely have repercussions in Europe, has been the premiere of a new engine. Mazda continues to disengaging of the few ties that bind you to Ford. The CX-9 leaves the six-cylinder engines to choose new SKYACTIV-G 2.5 T. Yes! The first engine SKYACTIV of gasoline with turbo. An engine that develops 250 HP and has been designed to the measure of a great SUV to be sold with four-wheel drive and which is intended to be energetic, at the same time efficient.

what we will soon See this engine in a Mazda european? Insurance…yes
