Mazda launched in Japan a program to restore the MX-5 first generation (NA).

In statements to a half-japanese, Mazda claims to have heard the voice of the owners of a Miata that they want to “drive your car forever”. The program of restoration will be commenced this year and we will see the first results by early 2018. Each project will have an approach very personal because the brand will listen to the requests of their customers to make the relevant modifications.

But there is still more, because in addition to addressing the restoration of these units for almost 30 years, Mazda re-manufactured original components for available of new spare parts for this roadster. For example, from next year the firm will produce the canvas of the “soft top”, the Bridgestone SF325 original, the legendary steering wheel Nardi or the knob wood shifter available in some MX-5 NA.

Of time, and as we have pointed out, this restoration program will be available in Japan. However, from Mazda ensures that they will continue to “listening” to their customers, and does not rule out launching similar actions in other markets.
