New McLaren Super Series.
as expected, McLaren has introduced in Geneva the the second generation of the range Super Series, the family of models that is inaugurated with the launch of the MP4-12C, the first production model of the signature of Woking.
Is confirmed finally the name and some of the data that we have been considering in the weeks prior to his presentation. The model finally received the appellation 720S, which means that has 720 horses, continuing with the tradition of the brand, which names its models in function of the number of power.
The new 720S is assembled around the new generation of monocoque carbon core of the brand, called the Monocage II. The construction of the model is made mostly of this material, hence achieving a feather-weight of only 1.283 pounds, not bad for a sport of your potential.
New 4.0-liter twin-turbo.
This also debuts an evolution of the engine that used all the models of the brand, now called M840T, a V8 that now expands its displacement up to 4.0 liters delivering 720 HP and 770 Nm of maximum torque. The brand points out that you have a relationship power/weight of 561 BHP per tonne.
Their performances are fixed in 2.9 seconds to perform the 0-100 km/h, 7.8 seconds to reach 200 km/h and its maximum speed is at 341 km/h. All this with a consumption combined average less than 11 litres per 100 kms. It is able to stop from 200 km/h to zero in just 4.6 seconds, using a space of 117 meters.
According to the british firm, the new 720S will begin marketing in the next month of may, with a price for Uk 208.600 Pounds sterling, € 240,000.
