McLaren Automotive confirms the introduction of a new model at the Geneva motor show 2017.
McLaren Automotive has confirmed new details of its business plan called “Track22” for the next few years. An ambitious plan in which we find the launch a total of 15 new models and many other firsts. Well, the manufacturer of the popular supercars has revealed the first details of all these changes that are coming.
In the first place, McLaren confirmed the development of the the second generation of the range Super Series. A family is composed, now, by the following models: 675LT, 675LT Spider, 650S Coupe, 650S Spider and 650S Can-Am Spider Limited Edition. Well, the first model of the second generation of this line will see the light in just a few months. More specifically in the Geneva Auto show in march 2017.
Mike Flewitt, CEO of McLaren Automotive, said that the range Super Series is the core business of McLaren and their models embody the blend of extreme performance, luxury, elaborate and unprecedented participation of the drivers. On the other hand, Flewitt says that the new generation of the Super Series will be absolutely faithful to the pioneering spirit of McLaren.
McLaren has also unveiled the first details of its new Monocage II.
The new Super Series will be developed around a new structure ultra-lightweight with a “core” central carbon fiber. It will be much more rigid and lighter than the structure used in the cabin of the first generation, the new Monocage II will allow the new model to be developed McLaren has a weight of only 1.283 kilograms, which translates into a reduction of 18 kilos with respect to the McLaren 650S current.
