McLaren has already begun the program of development of its new mechanics.

The british firm has formed a project to develop the new generation of mechanics that will be used in their next models. Up to now, and since the launch of the MP4-12C, has always employed variants of the same V8 3.8-liter supercharged provided by the specialist Ricardo, which also provided for the automatic transmission.

In total we have seen more than half a dozen power settings for the engine M838T, from the 540-HP 540C until the 916 HP P1, in this last case with a hybrid variant formed by this block V8, and a mechanical power of 176 HP.

To create this next generation of mechanical, McLaren has teamed up with 5 other companies, between which we find to BMW. These are Ricardo, BMW Group, Grainger and Worrall, in addition to Lentus Composites and the University of Bath.

there is No definite date for the arrival of this new generation of mechanical.

The project will be led by McLaren and is in part funded by the british government through the Advanced Propulsion Center. This is to develop a new combustion technology – have not specified the number of mechanical or potential developments of these – capable of delivering more power but at the same time reduce CO2 emissions.

or mechanical resulting from this project will encourage the new models of the brand that are coming, as announced in the strategic plan Track22.

This business plan contemplates the investment of 1,000 million Pounds sterling, 1.164 billion euros, in research and development in the next 6 years, up to 2022. This should result in the release of up to 15 models during this time, all of them sporting only a 2 – seater even though it is in the bedroom a new version triplaza style McLaren F1 – among which we will find his new electric model.
