Jenson Button has acknowledged that McLaren haven’t taught her the details of your car, 2017 until the time of their renewal. The british pilot, which went through a period of doubt before signing a new contract with the team from Woking, explains that the team chose to preserve the keys of the car in the next year. All in all, after the announcement of his contract extension with McLaren in the Autodromo of Monza, upon acceptance of the clause for taking a sabbatical year during 2017, the british pilot will build on the work in the simulator to collaborate in the development of the car.
Jenson Button still is not clear if he will return to the competition in 2018, but what is clear is that in 2017 will step to Stoffel Vandoorne in the alignment of McLaren. The belgian driver will partner Fernando Alonso in this work, remains to date the only two riders who were able to test in the simulator the configuration of the car next year. Both have spent long periods of time in the simulator, while Button still has not had the option of test, as recognized last weekend at the Circuit of the Americas.
Button, he said: “I, obviously, I did not see the car of 2017 for a period of time. It is something logical while I was deciding what to do with my career for the next year”. In this line, the champion of the Formula 1 World championship in 2008, explained: “Voy to be back in the factory and I’ll be able to fly it in the simulator. Stoffel and Fernando have been driven for many kilometres in the simulator, but also want my point of view and, above all, my opinion of how it feels to drive. Is a good thing and I am looking forward to the time to participate“.
