Mercedes puts in their point of look to Kevin Magnussen

Mercedes is still not confirm his lineup for the DTM. The signing of Stuttgart comes to christmas without certify to the eight riders that will compete with the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé DTM 2016, but on the table there are various issues to troubleshoot. The future of Pascal Wehrlein -inside or outside of the DTM and to find accommodation to Esteban Ocon are the two immediate problems, but it is also the test that is going to make Giedo Van der Garde with the team. At the same time, Mercedes is moving in the market with two names between eyebrow and eyebrow: Kevin Magnussen and Robert Kubica.

As explained by Fritz Ulrich, responsible for Mercedes in the DTM, the former McLaren driver is in the point of view of the brand. The danes surprised the team during the test carried out at Jerez, where he met with several riders: “I have to mention that Kevin Magnussen impressed us with his performance, although it is too early to talk about the next steps”. Ulrich has stated that: We will evaluate the possibility of signing to Magnussen, but first we have to know if we have any place for him and see if the collaboration makes sense”.

In this aspect, Mercedes has to make real ‘bobbin lace’. The chances of finding accommodation to Pascal Wehrlein in the Formula 1 are kept warm and the German could end up defending the title, harvested in 2015. In addition to our own Wehrlein, the performance of the veterans Gary Paffett and Paul Di Resta was remarkable, while Robert Wickens, Christian Vietoris and Dani Juncadella have shown their speed at one time or another. In this aspect, to find accommodation for Esteban Ocon or to the eventual signing of Kevin Magnussen and Robert Kubica is really complicated. By their results, Lucas Auer and Maximilian Götz could be listed.
