Miguel Molina will not continue with Audi Sport in the DTM. The decision of the firm of Ingolstadt not to count with Molina in his project of 2017 puts the point and end to a phase of seven years in the German Championship of passenger Cars for the Catalan driver. Despite being the second Audi driver with the most wins in 2016, Molina is facing a turning point in his career, in which you must face new challenges, something that the Spanish face to face with illusion and also with pride for the work done up to now.

however, Miguel Molina has a track record in the DTM worthy of praise. The pilot of Lloret de Mar has played a total of 87 races in the German Championship for touring Cars in which he has achieved three victories, seven podiums, six pole positions and five fastest laps, competing throughout his career with three different vehicles, the Audi A4 DTM, the A5 DTM and the RS 5 DTM. In addition, Molina has the honor of being the first Spanish rider to debut in the DTM, which has led him to be the first pilot of our country in scoring, to finish on the podium and to win a race in the competition.

So what made you see through a posting on Instagram that Miguel Molina was leaving the DTM: “Time to close a chapter, have been seven years in which I learned many things. In 2010 we made the decision to follow a path that was not explored, we were told that it was a championship to retreat and old, but currently, the DTM is a championship that is competitive and of reference in the present. I am going to be the first Spanish rider in his debut, to score, to climb to a podium and to win a race of this championship. Ghanks to Audi, the ABT Sportsline and Phoenix Racing for these wonderful years. And in particular to Markus, Laurent and Carlos Castellá by this stage that we have lived together from beginning to end. I Hope I can explain my new plans soon“.
