MINI is already working on a second model purely electric

MINI is now preparing its second model 100% electric, although this time in partnership with Great Wall Motors, as it will be a vehicle intended exclusively for the chinese market.

Andhe first of models pure electric MINI will arrive to the market in the coming months. This is a car that will take as point of departure to the hatchback of three doors, to give life to the new MINI E that will be available at dealerships of the brand from next year.

But that will not be the only new MINI in the field of electric mobility, since the brand of british origin, now in the hands of BMW is already thinking about a second model purely electric, but that will be developed exclusively for its marketing in China, the fourth global market for MINI, where in the last year sold more than 35,000 units.

The british manufacturer will not be able to sell the MINI E in China because their batteries are not produced in China, and it is for this reason that plans to this new model which will be manufactured in China as part of an agreement with the local firm Great Wall Motors, a model that will be commercialized in the network of dealers of MINI.

however will not be simply the MINI E with a battery pack assembled in China, but on the contrary will be a vehicle completely new, designed to meet the tastes and needs of chinese customers, by which we understand that must be either a crossover or a saloon, they must have ample space for the occupants of the spaces after, such as the public of that country demand.

For the year 2025 the BMW Group believes that up to 25% of their sales will come from vehicles electrified, for which the roadmap of MINI envisages the launch of its first electric model for the next year. The new MINI E will be produced at the factory british Oxford, while the batteries will be manufactured by BMW in the e-mobility center in Germany.
