Mirko Bortolotti has taken up the pole position for the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 #16 of team GRT Greaser in the qualifying session for the Blancpain Endurance Cup event in Silverstone. The Italian rider, who already showed to be very fast during the previous sessions, it has managed to stop the clock in a time of 1:58.469, which has served to overcome in two tenths behind the Audi R8 LMS #74 of ISR. As happened at Brands Hatch, Franck Perera has demonstrated his great facet of classifier for second place and as the highest ranked of the Pro-AM Cup. The qualifying session of the Endurance Cup event in Silverstone has been anything but quiet. Q1 witnessed all kinds of problems ranging from the track output of the other Huracan GT3 of GRT Greaser until a last braking with fright included the Aston Martin Vantage Oman Racing. However, the mishap most important came with the crash of the Ferrari 488 GT3 #51 AF Corse, that caused the red flag before the strong impact against the barriers suffered by Peter Mann. In addition, the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 of Lucas Ordonez suffered a puncture, which lastraba his classification to the dessert.
Q2 was not much more quiet because it was back to produce
a red flag, in this case a track output of the Ferrari 458 Italia
GT3 #42 with Nyls Stievenart at the wheel. Also suffered an off track almost
parallel to the BMW M6 GT3 #12 of Karim Ojjeh, although that did not prevent
the best time out for a vehicle of the house of Munich. As
happened during the Q1, the best record in the Q2 was going to stop the BMW M6 GT3 #99
Rowe Racing, piloted during this second session by Phillip Eng.
In the final Q3, Bortolotti was the best
time with the Lamborghini Hurricane, beating the Audi R8 LMS of Franck Perera and
to own the BMW M6 GT3 #99, driven in the final round by Alexander Sims. Fourth
it was placed Maximilian Buhk with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the fifth was Albert Costa
with the Jaguar XK GT3, in a classification frame of the pilot Spanish. In
with regard to the rest of their countrymen, Andy Soucek could not pass
the post 27th with the Bentley. For its part, the Audi R8 LMS of Antonio Garcia was 14th, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 finished 19th
with Engel at the wheel and the Nissan GT-R
NISMO Lucas OrdoƱez concluded 32nd.
