The new Audi A3 has just received a facelift. The Audi A3 2016 is now more powerful, more efficient and technological. This update modifies its aesthetic, bringing it closer to the latest releases of the mark, as are the Audi Q2 and Audi A4. At a technological level also receives a new instrumentation 100% digital and its range of engines has been renewed in depth, with the efficiency and performance in mind. 1) An image more aggressive for the Audi A3 2016
Its outer dimensions do not change, and will continue to be offered in bodywork three-door, Sportback, Cabriolet and Sedan.
The Audi A3 is renewed aesthetically. It is more aggressive, and premieres a new calender single-frame look more angular, similar to the new Audi Q2. The bumpers have been redesigned, with a sporty look that almost seems inspired in the RS models of Quattro GmBh. The optical front have been redesigned, mounting technology xenon plus serial. Optionally, can be equipped with LED headlights or Matrix LED, the latter of great extent, with dynamic lighting and adjustable detection of objects on the road.
In the rear of the Audi A3, we found a new optical LED, similar to the current form, but with a new signature lighting. The range of colours has been updated with 12 new shades, such as blue Ara, blue, Cosmic, gray, Nano, red, Tango, yellow, Vegas or a grey Daytona. The lines of equipment have been designed in a modular way, offering the customer a wider choice. In addition to the standard finishes, you can order versions design edition, sport edition and S line edition.
2) Instrumentation 100% digital
The free app Audi MMI allows you to play music in streaming, or send routes to navigator Audi MMI Plus, among other functions.
One of the great novelty is that the Audi A3 you can equip a instrumentation 100% digital, as do other models of the house, such as the Audi A4. This screen of 12.3 inches replaces the traditional watches as advanced centre information. It is customizable, and allows you to reconcile so praiseworthy features such as navigation with the normal monitoring of speed and rate of turn. The infotainment system Audi connect is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Has extended functions thanks to the Internet connection using a 4G SIM, such as searches in Google or display Street View at the destination of our path. This SIM has a flat-rate annual payment, and work throughout Europe without additional charges for roaming. The Audi phone box in the central armrest connects wirelessly to the smartphone to the antenna of the vehicle – extending the signal reception and mobile data – in addition to allow recharge without cables.
3) Engines 1.0 TFSI three-cylinder, and a 2.0 TFSI that is completely new to the new Audi A3
The Audi S3 receive 10 HP extra, standing at 310 HP, with a huge maximum torque of 400 Nm from 2,000 rpm up to 5400 rpm.
The most important changes are focused on the range of engines. A new 1.0 TFSI three-cylinder becomes the engine of access, with a power of 115 HP and a maximum torque of 200 Nm between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm. This engine has already been released in other models of the Volkswagen Group, such as the SEAT Ateca. Other propellant completely new is a 2.0 TFSI 190-HP, an all-new unit that stands out a maximum torque of 320 Nm between 1,500 and 4,200 rpm. Is associated to a new box S-tronic dual-clutch and seven relationships.
This box is bathed in oil and replaces the box of six relations with dry clutches. The other engine is interesting is a 1.4 TFSI COD ultra, a four-cylinder turbo with disconnection of cylinders and 150 HP of power. In the range diesel, the engine access is a proven 1.6 TDI 110 HP, complemented with two units 2.0 TDI, with outputs of 150 HP and 184 HP. The traction integral quattro remains ubiquitous in range, and optionally you can equip a sport-tuned suspension that reduces the ride height up to 25 mm
4) Pilot semi-autonomous traffic jams
The system of emergency braking can stop completely the car if it detects no activity on the part of the driver.
One of the advantages of the front-facing cameras to read signs/road markings, and radar proximity is that they allow the inclusion of modes of steering semi-autonomous. At speeds below 65 km/h – and as long as we are in a retention – an Audi A3 automatic will accelerate, stop and turn by themselves, thanks to this system called Audi traffic jam assist.
