In the last Beijing Motor Show, Lincoln, Ford’s premium brand, we unveiled the Lincoln MKX Concept, the prototype of a new SUV segment based E Ford Edge . Like the crossover from the Blue Oval, the second generation Lincoln MKX be a global model in those markets where the brand markets its cars, mainly the United States and China.
were leaked to the network the first images of the final production version of the Lincoln MKX, which retains most of stylistic features of the prototype. This model looks for a more premium positioning than his brother, Ford Edge and will compete with models like the Volkswagen Touareg and the BMW X5, to name some known models.
The model will be presented at the North American International Auto Show and so far few details are known, although it hit the market in mid 2015. It is known to equip the motor 2.7 V6 EcoBoost over 300 horses and all versions will have automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, with the optional AWD.
In terms of equipment the Lincoln MKX will honor its premium positioning with elements like LED headlights , panoramic glass roof, adaptive cruise control, steering and adaptive variable suspension hardness. Elements such as dual zone climate control, the heated and ventilated front seats or a vision system 360 will also be available in the MKX.
The interior, despite being similar to the Ford Edge in design, will more careful presentation, with better materials and solutions such as a stereo hi-fi or change selector marches with buttons to the left of the large touchscreen dashboard.
