Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen won the title of GTE-Pro of the World of Resistance to the controls of the old Aston Martin Vantage after adding to throughout the season with two wins and four podiums. Results that however do not correspond to the actual performance of the GTE british, every time that the Vantage is the oldest model of the grill. In this aspect, and although it is always a pride to enroll your name in the history of the WEC, Danish Nicki Thiim has been recognized that without the ‘Balance of Performance’ would never have earned the title surpassing the two new cars like the Ford GT and the Ferrari 488 GTE.
“we could Not compete without the BoP. The car is old. I know that there will always be people that complain about the ‘Balance of Performance’ when they come to please and then when they come well don’t say anything” has explained a Nicki Thiim. The Danish also has recognized that: “I Think that we kept a low profile this year. We knew that in some places we will not be good, but we did not say anything, just struggling to get the best in every moment. That is what is to be done with the BoP in GT3 or GTE. Is a good thing to have“.
However, the season 2016, has lived up to ten changes
in the ‘Balance of Performance’, that has generated great controversy as it has
been impossible to balance the performance of the four car present in
GTE-Pro. The own Thiim claimed: “If you had asked me
for the BoP six months ago, I would not have entrusted so much in him. Ford and Ferrari have
brought new car, we hoped that they were strong at the beginning of the season. The BoP at the end was a
big thing this year, with changes in both directions. At the beginning Ferrari was
very strong, and at Le Mans we were not competitive, but we ended up. There is only that
get the best out of the car when you have the rhythm”.
