Nikolas Tombazis, the former aerodinamísta Ferrari, now occupy another position in F1. Tombazis will be the new head of aerodynamics team Manor. So has announced the team Manor to strengthen its ranks techniques to 2016. The arrival of this engineer will be a major breakthrough for the beleaguered aerodynamics of the Manor, even drag the delay, not only for being a modest team, but by that time with Virgin in which decided not to use a wind tunnel to focus only on the CFD.
Nikolas Tombazis has a long-standing experience in the F1, since its arrival in the 90 to euqipo Benetton, passing by McLaren and finally Ferrari. After the restructuring, which suffered Maranello, Tombazis, Fry and others went out the door to make way for James Allison and other technicians who they signed to try to boost the Italian project. Now tab by Manor, who has had many changes lately, since the very important people that has come out, movements in financial and now this new addition.
Now face 2016 with a new engine, and very powerful, the Mercedes, which could bring them to another level. No doubt Mercedes could equip them with a motor like yours for testing as they do not pose a threat as they may involve Williams. This places Manor in a good position, although we will have to wait to see where they are, that the incorporation of Tombazis will not make miracles, it takes a long time for the development of aerodynamic change.
Tombazis is shown happy of his move and expect great things. “The team plans impressive and is investing in all areas to achieve the ambitious goals on track, so I’m looking forward to being a part of this journey. [..] The equipment of current design is already very strong and I am looking forward to work with a fantastic group of people to make the most of the opportunities that we have ahead of us which help us to progress over the coming seasons.“.
