Nissan Navara EnGuard, a prototype pick-up to the rescue of emergency

The new Nissan NP300 Navara is ready for everything, and this particular prototype still with a greater reason. The Nissan Navara EnGuard has been designed as a rescue vehicle for emergencies, designed to solve the most difficult of conditions in a complicated environment.

Based on the pick-up Navara production -made in Spain – in version of the double cab and finish Tekna, the modifications of this prototype are quite numerous. In the Nissan Navara EnGuard incorporates a battery pack portable power, directly derived from that used by the Nissan LEAF.

These batteries are installed in the back box of the prototype, and are recharged continuously through the energy generated by the diesel engine biturbo engine of 2.3 liters and 190 HP. Each unit has a capacity of 2 kW, and its weatherproof housing of aluminum permits a complete isolation.

With two jacks power input for charge, and other five output, could be used in emergency situation to allow the operation of electrical equipment -such as lifting devices, being a more efficient alternative to a generator traditional gasoline. Could even be used in enclosed spaces such as buildings or caves, to the not emit smoke.

The rest of the cargo platform of this Nissan Navara EnGuard is occupied by two removable trays of glass fiber with everything you need for emergency or rescue, storing life vests, a tank of oxygen, a kit of resuscitation, rope or an axe.

But there is still more, that the the prototype also incorporates a drone DJI Phantom 4, able to fly up to 6000 meters high at 20 m/s during 30 minutes, sending pictures of the car, something very interesting to recognize a terrain of difficult access before.

finally, the Navara EnGuard has a total height that has been increased by 50 millimetres additional with respect to the pick-up of the series, improving their capabilities of a 4×4. Its wheel arches are wide, are also exclusive, as well as four sirens, a strobe and an LED lighting 360°.

Your roof is 136 millimeters higher, and between their equipment could not miss the view camera 360°, or the satellite navigation system Nissan Connect. In the words of Philippe Guerin-Boutaud, vice president of light commercial vehicles from Nissan,

“The Nissan Navara is a pick-up resistant and smart that is trusted by our clients to go anywhere and do anything in your daily life. The prototype Nissan Navara EnGuard is an extension of that principle, and demonstrates that our award-winning pick-up is perfectly prepared to face the toughest terrain and save lives.”
