Notable changes in the Ferrari Driver Academy


New logo, new director, new riders. It is clear that it begins a new stage in the Ferrari Driver Academy and the start of pre-season GP3 has served as a starting point for the school of young pilots of the Scuderia Ferrari, or at least to the consolidation of the project to the media. On the occasion of these tests in Magny Cours, training has announced all of the ingredients that make up the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016. Charles Leclerc, Giuliano Alesi, Antonio Fuoco and Guan Yu Zhou are the four riders covered by the signature during this season.

The Ferrari Driver Academy will be conducted from 2016 by Massimo Rivola, which attempt to give a new approach to a school of young pilots who have not joined the objectives set in the last few years. To do this, and the incorporation of the monegasque Charles Leclerc and the French Giuliano Alesi, son of Jean Alesi, pilot of the historic Scuderia Ferrari. Leclerc comes to compete in Formula 3 and will debut in GP3 with the team ART Grand Prix, while Alesi will race in F4 after two seasons at the highest level in go-karts and a year in Formula 4.

Antonio Fuoco is the most experienced rider of the Ferrari Driver Academy, within his great youth. The Italian rider finished fifth in the F3 European in 2014 and won a year later his first season in GP3 with Carlin, where he scored two podiums and finished sixth. Fuoco will face his second season in the category support of the Formula 1, having a role in pilot development at Scuderia Ferrari. Finally, the chinese driver Guan Yu Zhou will debut his 16 years in Formula 3 with the team Motorpark Team, which finished second in the F4 Italian last year.
