Hyundai officially introduced to their new divsion of luxury car which they called Genesis. The signature south Korean takes the path set by Toyota with Lexus or Nissan with Infiniti and plan to launch six new models over the next 4 years.
Hyundai has revealed today that Genesis will be a new independent brand, which will try to compete in the segment premium. this Is a decision that was under study for quite some time, but it was not until now that this idea became a reality. Genesis launch six new models of luxury here until the year 2020 and it is expected that the first of them to have its world debut next month of December.
The signature south Korean continues the path set by Toyota with Lexus or Nissan Infiniti and promises to differentiate itself from its competitors, based to distance himself from the overload of technology, putting the focus on achieving a tailor-made experience of the customers. Genesis will adopt a new strategy of nomenclature alphanumeric through the combination of the letter ‘G’ with numbers such as 70, 80 or 90, depending on the segment to which the model is run. The first debut would be a product that will take as the basis of the Hyundai Equus, which will take the name Genesis G90.
The design of these new products will be in charge of Luc Donckerwolke, who will be the head of the new department of design specific to the which they called Prestige Design Division, who will respond to the orders of Peter Schreyer, head of design of Hyundai.
These six new models will begin in a phased manner to reach the market over the next 4 years. After the arrival of the G90, will be added to the range in a sedan segment D, a Coupe and an SUV. In a first stage the brand in south korea points to the markets more secure: Korea, China, and north America and depending on the results, will begin to arrive in Europe, Latin america and other markets.
