Ott Tanak is the first leader of the Rally RACC Catalunya
after sign up the scratch in the urban stretch in Barcelona. The Estonian driver has
taken advantage of the benefits of the tires DMACK in the difficult conditions of rain
present in the mountain of Montjuïc to make the fastest time between the
World Rally Cars. In this line, but in this case with Pirelli tyres and
taking advantage of his condition of ‘open track’, the second-ranked has been
Lorenzo Bertelli. Without taking too many risks, Sébastien Ogier was fourth behind Jan Kopecký,
while Dani Sordo has been located on eleventh position.
The heavy rainfall that have fallen over Barcelona
during the celebration of the special have been the last requirement for that
the stretch on the Hill to lose part of its essence. With a long stretch of link
until Salou and with the need to preserve the tires for the following
days of the rally, the main drivers have not taken risks, nor have they
forced the machine over the account. Ott Tanak and Lorenzo Bertelli have
take advantage of this circumstance, its tyres and the fact you jump to the track on
two moments in the rain, which raged with less intensity to be logged
the best of times.
Saving both the ballot with good performance, Kris
Meeke and Craig Breen have taken their time to situate themselves in fifth and sixth
position. The two Citroen drivers have finished 5.2 seconds of the time
head, registry that has served them to beat Neuville, Mikkelsen,
Ostberg or Paddon. Dani Sordo for his part has finished décimoprimero to 7.1 seconds
Tanak, a distance is totally manageable and more if we compare it with that
has left Jari-Matti Latvala, who starts the Rally RACC Catalunya with more than
almost 10 seconds of disadvantage on Ogier.
Jan Kopecký has been the fastest rider in WRC2 and fourth ranked all. The Czech set a time of 3:52.6, record that has enabled him to overcome
by four seconds to Pontus Tidemand. Behind the two official drivers
Skoda have placed Armin Kremer and Teemu Suninen, both also to the
commanders of separate units of the Fabia R5. After the four cars of the signature
Czech, Jose Antonio ‘Rocket’ Suarez has placed fifth. The Peugeot driver
Sport has signed a positive stretch in Barcelona and, above all, has been given a
mass bathing.
