During the last few months has been repeated by active and passive that I wanted to stay in Citroën or in default in the PSA group, and although the option to compete in the WEC is still present, for the moment it has fulfilled its promise. Jose Maria ‘Pechito’ Lopez has signed for DS Virgin to compete in the ‘Season Three’ of the Formula E. The argentinian driver, on the way to their third title in the WTCC, will play for the season 2016-17 in the series electrical and it will as a couple of Sam Bird, every time the british driver has returned to renew with the team.

After confirming the news, ‘Pechito’ Lopez stated: This is a movement very exciting for me and I’m looking forward to compete in Formula E with DS Virgin”. The argentinian driver, who already was about to get on the Virgin DSV-01 to replace Vergne for this season, he added: “I’ve had some experience working with the team, so I am sure we can achieve great things together in the next season. The Formula E has the wind aft, and as it is logical I am particularly motivated to go back to Buenos Aires, where the team had such a great success last season”.

With this movement, Jean-Eric Vergne makes bags for arriving in Techeetah. The French rider has decided to go for the formation which occupies the hollow of the Team Aguri on the grid and is managed by China Media Capital (CMC) and ultimately by the marketing company sports DRY, although perhaps this step has a lot to do with the arrival of a partner investor minority of French origin. In any case, Vergne will be team-mate Ma Qing Hua, a pilot that already competed with the Team Aguri result of the transfer of the ownership of the team.
