Porsche Motorsport will be a with only two Porsche 919 Hybrid
to try to achieve the title of the WEC and the win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Although it does not change anything regarding the program that ran in 2016, the decision of
Toyota of aligning a third TS050 Hybrid requires extra work to the firm from Stuttgart. In this regard, the development of the new Porsche 919 Hybrid follows its
course and has taken a big step forward with the test of three days of Porsche
Motorsport has carried out in Valencia. Three days of testing in the team
has completed 2.876 miles.
According to ‘Motorsport-Total’, Porsche focused their
work in the tires Michelin, and the first components of the kit
aerodynamic 2017, taking advantage of the weather conditions perfect
he enjoyed the team and that distaron of the fog that alter the program of
work in the previous test at MotorLand Aragon. Timo Bernhard, Andre Lotterer
and Nick Tandy were the three pilots in charge of completing these 2.800
miles in a program in which the two ‘newcomers’ are alternated with
Bernhard. The team paid special attention to the views of André Lotterer,
pilot from the project in LMP1 of Audi.
The work of Nick Tandy also had its value during the
test, every time that the pilot has been able to analyze the progression that has taken the
Porsche 919 Hybrid from 2015, the last time I climbed up to the LMP1 Stuttgart
the occasion of his victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. All in all, the work does not cease
for Porsche Motorsport and after this test at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, all
the data collected will be used to give way to the new Porsche 919 Hybrid in its
specification of 2017, vehicle that will debut during the Prologue of the WEC
this year is held in Monza.
