KTM Racing has submitted an official RC16 during a press conference held at the GP of Austria from MotoGP, test race at the Red Bull Ring. Taking advantage of the appointment of house of the Motorcycling World championship, the signature of Mattinghofen has shown the livery final from a frame in which the colors combine the orange KTM and the usual tones of Red Bull, the firm also ‘house’ and that intensifies his bet on MotoGP by doubling their efforts and providing support to KTM and Honda. The RC16 will make his debut in the GP of Valencia with Mika Kallio as ‘wild card’.
The KTM RC16 has a peculiar design and away from the rest of the mounts of MotoGP. In a glance you see that it is a bike with the DNA of KTM and in fact in certain traits reminiscent of the Moto3 class of the brand-starting with your own livery, but also it has details typical of a Moto2. Be that as it may, the main ingredients of this RC16 pass by a chassis multitubular of steel, a motor V4, 1,000 c. c. with a power of 270 horses and a suspension WP, a firm absorbed by the KTM and working under their plans.
Despite the debut of the hand of Mika Kallio -one of the
five testers of the brand – in the GP of Valencia, the two official drivers
of KTM in the season 2017 will be Pol Espargaró and Bradley Smith, both confirmed
by the mark, and cease to form simultaneously the team Tech3. As is
logical, none of the two drivers has been in the press conference of presentation of the RC16 for
contractual issues, but Pit Beirer, Stefan Pierer, Sebastian Risse and
Mike Leitner as project managers of KTM in MotoGP have attended
press. Has not lost this appointment the own Mika Kallio.
