The cancellation of the ePrix of Moscow has precipitated the end of the Formula E, or better said, has given to each of the races remaining of even greater importance. With this light reaches the ePrix of Berlin, the eighth race of the calendar and which this year will be held on a path totally in the centre of the German capital after not able to use the Airport Tempehof, destined to give shelter to the syrian refugees. With this change of path, the unknowns are even greater, although there is nothing new to a category that debuted a few weeks ago in Paris.
The new path is located around one of the most emblematic parts of the city as it is Alxanderplatz. It has a length of 2,030 square and in its path, you draw a total of 11 curves. Although to the naked eye and according to the profile provided by the organisation we are dealing with a circuit symmetrical drawn on an avenue, two streets attached and a gazebo, what is certain is that the path has more crumbs than it might seem. However, it seems that there are no large braking -except for the curve 5 – to find a point of overtaking. The fight for the pole position will be critical.
Lucas di Grassi comes to you as leader of the Formula E Berlin after getting a brilliant victory in the previous race in Paris. The brazilian driver has not been on the podium so far this season and only a disqualification in the ePrix of Mexico has prevented him from maintaining the full real podiums. In spite of this, the pilot ABT Audi only has 11 points of advantage over Sébastien Buemi, pilot who has been more irregular than in the last few races has committed several faults. Sam Bird, third in discord, it seems totally off the hook of the fight for the title.
The ePrix of Berlin will be very special for two riders and a team,
already competing at home. Daniel Abt is the maximum exponent of this
indeed, the entire time that the German pilot competes for the family structure
ABT Schaeffler, which under the aegis of Audi exercised as a single team
local. The other participant, which may be backed by their
fellow is Nick Heidfeld. The season’s pilot has had a good
number of ups and downs, and even managed to reach the podium in the first
ePrix of the season, since then it has been falling apart in the
classification to occupy the eighth place of the general.
It is almost a custom that the grill of the Formula And have
a change of riders in each race, although this trend has focused
in the Team Aguri during this season. The team is immersed in full
sale process and the dance of pilots has been a constant. In Berlin also
Ma Qing Hua, who made his debut in the ePrix of Paris with the team, the formation
he uses a local rider to complete your grill in the absence of
António Félix Da Costa, present in the DTM. The fifth driver of the Team Aguri is
