The Rally of Poland is the setting for brave. The picturesque region of the Masurian lakes hides some of the sections faster than all the WRC and that fact with the arrival of the new generation of World Rally Cars are big words. Sébastien Ogier returns to be the team to beat in the defense of his leadership, though many are the candidates able to do well in the fast and frantic sections poles. Pontus Tidemand is the big favorite in WRC2, while Nil Solans will seek a new victory in the JWRC that allows you to follow the face of the category managed by M-Sport.
The Rally of Poland dates back to 1921, although its international story starts in 1964 with its inclusion in the ERC. In the European is a test with a long career that among other things it has been witness to three victories of the spaniard Antonio Zanini. His first appearance in the WRC came in 1973 and he did not repeat in the World until 2009. Landing in the World are produced in final form in 2014 after replacing the Acropolis Rally, Greek. The Rally of Poland is a true festival of speed. Settled in the Masurian Lakes and with its epicentre in Mikolakji, the test Polish has a total of 1408,75 kilometers, of which 320,56 kilometres are against the clock. The rally starts on the day on Thursday, with the dispute of the shakedow and the Super Special in the Mikolajki Arena, stretch to the side of the service park which closes each day of the test. The stretches of Friday to the east of the city are identical to those of 2016, with small tweaks in the special ‘Wieliczki’ that is not complicated in excess of the pilots.
Saturday is the longest stage of the rally with almost 145 kilometers timed spread over nine special. The teams and drivers face two loops symmetrical four stretches to the north of the epicenter of the rally, near the border with the Russian territory of Kaliningrad. The format of the day is identical to that of Friday with the assistance of middle and stretches of high-speed. ‘Pozezdrze’ and ‘Kruklanki’ are the two new stretches at this time. The Toyota Yaris WRC has been shown to be handled well in stretches of high-speed. Having three Finnish pilots is a guarantee of having a good performance in a rally of these features. Jari-Matti Latvala, Juho Hänninen and Esapekka Lappi seek to at least repeat the positive result achieved in Sardinia. Finally, in Citroën appears Andreas Mikkelsen as the new landmark and so it is clear to be the only driver with a Citroen C3 WRC mounted some new features. The payroll of the WRC to the full as almost always Mads Ostberg in a test he can sit very well in Norwegian.
In the class WRC2 all eyes point to Pontus Tidemand as a leader of the category and the only official driver of Skoda in the fray. However, the pilot Swedish will have a great competition with riders of the caliber of Benito Guerra, Simone Tempestini, Ole Christian Veiby or Fabio Andolfi, although it is true that none of them have been with Tidemand in rally previous. For his part, Nil Solans defends lead in the JWRC and WRC3. The Catalan driver will seek a new victory that will allow it to consolidate its position and to continue making merit for the next season.
