The DTM leaves his native Germany in one of the moments more
beautiful time of the season, while seven different drivers have won in the
last seven races. With Edoardo Mortara remains the only driver able to repeat
win in 2016, the contest lands at Zandvoort, one of those circuits that
always gives off a special aroma, maybe because it is located right on the sea. It
that as it may, the German Championship of passenger Cars will cross the equator in their season
in a weekend in which Framework Witmman defends leadership in a track in
which has a victory and a podium.
Zandvoort is a special track, one of those paths
‘old school’ they like the pilots in spite of their narrowness. In this
look, the path in Dutch is a features similar to the
circuit of the Jarama or Suzuka, since all these tracks were designed
by John Hugenholtz. Therefore we speak of a path, twisty, narrow,
with the start / finish straight as the only exponent of pure acceleration. In the end, what
throughout their 4.307 metres the track of Zandvoort has thirteen curves,
being the range of ‘Tarzan’ one of its most iconic.
Among the key factors that can define the weekend of the DTM
on the track of Zandvoort is the changing climate, as the wind and the rain
tend to be regular traveling companions on this track. With these possible
circumstances will have to deal the leader Marco Witmann. The pilot of BMW sum
75 points, two more than Edo Mortara and five more than Paul Di Resta, being of
this way BMW, Audi and Mercedes-represented among the first three
classified. However, the equality is at a maximum as we have already said, and until
eight riders moved in a margin of 23 points.
Among these eight pilots only Marco Wittmann, Edoardo
Mortara -double-, Paul di Resta and Nico Müller have managed to win
a race this year, a condition that however has not prevented Jamie Green,
Maxime Martin and Robert Wickens be involved in the fight for the championship
thanks to their regularity. All of these riders will also be in charge of trying to
decant the balance of the constructors, for the moment in favor of
BMW with 310 points. In this regard it should be noted that BMW has
won three of the last four races at Zandvoort.
Within the group of drivers who have won a victory is
Miguel Molina, although the spaniard is far from the posts of head of the
classification. Even so, the Catalan driver of Audi hopes to have a good role in
Zandvoort, a track that has managed to score points in two of the seven
races he has contested. For his part, Dani Juncadella continues to pursue the
order to score their first points of the season. To do this, Dani will have
with a Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM that you will have a basis weight of 1.117,5 pounds, by the
1,127 kilograms that you weigh the Audi RS 5 DTM and 1.115 kg of the BMW M4 DTM.
