The WTCC faces in his fourth event of the season in the
street circuit of Marrakech, or that is the introduction that had been used
until now. The path moroccan has undergone a broad process of renewal
to become a track, a semi-permanent which has improved the
security, but that also has changed almost in its entirety the
original path. In fact, only a small section of track remains in
relation to the trazador original used in previous seasons for the World
Cars.
In this way, pilots will find in Marrakech
a path totally new you will need to assess and meet during the session of testing.
This new circuit configuration a distance of 2.971 meters
and is formed by a total of 12 curves who draw a silhouette much more
attractive and varied than the previous circuit that had 15 curves and 4.540
meters and in which they gained pilots from the likes of Huff, Larini, Tarquini,
Priaulx, Muller, ‘Pechito’ López and Loeb. Also this scenario was conquered
by spaniard Pepe Oriola in 2013.
Oblivious to the new demands of the track and the new asphalt more abrasive, ‘Pechito’ López comes as a leader to Marrakech. The argentinian driver, who has won two races in Morocco in the previous configuration of the track, a total of 106 points after winning the main race in Hungary, where he survived the fiasco suffered by the riders pointers in the opening race because of the rain. In the end, the pilot of Citroën added more points than Tiago Monteiro and Mehdi Bennani, winner of the aforementioned opening race. Monteiro sum 94 points and Bennani 77 unidades.
Mehdi Bennani serves as local hero in Marrakech and what makes
in one of the best moments of his career, as the leader of the Trophy WTCC
private pilots and with their second victory in the World Touring car under the
arm. Bennani should remain calm and know how to add valuable points which can
take you to stay in the top places despite competing with a
Citroën C-Elysée for Sébastien Loeb Racing. The race in Morocco will be a
bar for Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini, while Honda riders will try to fish with a Honda Civic WTCC lighter.
In fact, the weight of compensation can make a huge
differences in Marrakech. The fruit of their successes, the Citroën C-Elysée arrastrán
80 extra pounds. In this aspect it is worth highlighting the role that can achieve
both Lada as Honda. The Lada Vesta WTCC have lost 20 kilos in relation to
Hungary and now has ballasts for value of 30 kilos, while the Honda Civic
stay in 1.140 kilos, 40 above its weight based but 30 below
he had at the Hungaroring. The Volvo S60 Polestar and the Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 stay in their weight basis.
