The overwhelming dominance of Citroën Racing has left a final
seasonal decaffeinated in the WTCC. The argentine José María ‘Pechito’ López
already a three-time World Touring car and in a virtual way the title of
marks is in the hands for the third vetch of the French manufacturer. All in all, the
contest still keeps us two great attractions, the fight for the
runners-up between Yvan Muller and Tiago Monteiro in the farewell of the French
contest that has seen him compete for 11 years, as well as the battle for the
title of the WTCC Trophy, a category in which compete the private pilot and in
the leader is Mehdi Bennani.
The first of two appointments that will confront the WTCC in his
last month of competition will be at the majestic track Shanghai
International Circuit. However, the drivers and teams of the World
Passenger cars do not use the same variant of the path that is used in the World of Formula
1. In fact, the track has only 4.603 meters and 16 curves any time since ‘the
Ying and Yang’ continue straight to go to what would be the curve 7 of the path
original. What remains unchanged is the enormous straight back,
the decisive advance in this discipline-based rebufos.
Jose Maria ‘Pechito’ Lopez living their last few races
in the WTCC -a priori – and with their third title under the arm, all the attention
as we have said focuses on two men. Tiago Monteiro and Yvan Muller come
tied at 199 points in the middle of a battle for the second position in the championship,
bout that nor can it be ruled out to Robert Huff and Norbert Michelisz,
the entire time that the two drivers of the Honda come to a little over 20 points of
major contenders for the runner-up position. Therefore, the battle between the
four riders promises to be the least exciting.
The other major focus of interest is in the WTCC Trophy, centered in the heart of the team Sébastien Loeb Racing. Mehdi Bennani is the leader of the rating of a private pilot with 140 points, but it has just 23 points to their companion box Tom Chilton. A step behind comes Tom Coronel, with almost no options to be able to get reach them with only 92 points. However, the struggle of these three riders will be interleave with the interests of Lada and Volvo. In fact, the Swedish firm arrives with novelties to Shanghai the whole time Frederik Ekblom returns to the second Volvo S60 WTCC.
On a track with a line of similar length, the burdens of compensation charges on an even greater importance. In this case, the Citroën C-Elysée run with 80 pounds of overweight, maximum amount that can be received by regulations. Not far behind the Honda Civic after its good results in the latest dates and japanese cars will have 60 extra pounds. The rest of the vehicles do not receive any type of ballast so that Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, Lada Vesta WTCC and Volvo S60 WTCC maintain their weight basis.
