R alph Gilles was the chief designer for Chrysler in the United States, even before the alliance with Fiat. Gilles, who was responsible for the first generation Chrysler 300 has been promoted as today chief designer for all Fiat Chrysler Automobiles , replacing Lorenzo Ramaciotti, 67 years age.
Gilles, 45 years old, has been appointed while executive board member of FCA , the supreme decision-making body of the group. Ramaciotti however continue to offer his vast knowledge despite retirrse of the company, but will do by way of an external advisory report directly to Sergio Marchionne .
From US origin, Ralph Gilles was supreme head of SRT . He now faces the monumental task of monitoring designs lot of models that are in gestation as part of a five-year plan FCA. Among them are the next Maserati GranTurismo, the new sports-based Alfieri and most of the new Alfa Romeo , among many others.
