It will also be available optionally the change of double clutch EDC, in variants EDC6 -with six relations – the dCi 110, or EDC7 -seven relationships – in the TCe 130 petrol. petrol engines will be particularly interesting in the new Megane for their reduced consumption and favorable benefits. The mechanics of access will be the Tec 100, a 1.2-liter turbo with 100 HP and 175 Nm of maximum torque at only 1,500 rpm. The maximum power is reached at 4,500 rpm, a value more typical of a diesel to a petrol, being very elastic at low speed.

Mégane Energy TCe 100 reaches 179 km/h, with a 0-100 km/h in 12,9 seconds. Its average consumption amounted to 5.4 liters/100 km, emitting 120 grams of CO2 per kilometre travelled. In the intermediate step we have the Energy TCe 130, also a 1.2-liter four-cylinder but with 130 HP at 5,500 rpm and 205 Nm of maximum torque. The performance of the Megane with this engine improve accordingly, with 197 km/h and 10.6 seconds in the 0-100 km/h.

finally, there is the Renault Mégane GT. In this case we speak of a 1.6 Tec with 205 HP at 6,000 rpm, capable of allow you to reach 233 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. Its average consumption approved is 6 l/100 km: for performance and sports aspirations, will be in line with the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Hyundai i30 Turbo or Peugeot 308 GT, for example.
