It was the great day of Honda and the rain has not avoided. Rob Huff has taken victory in the ‘Main Race’ of the WTCC in
Marrakech, leading to the triplet in the official team of the japanese firm.
Although ‘Pechito’ López has threatened at times to the podium by Honda, finally, Norbert
Michelisz and Tiago Monteiro were second and third to achieve the greatest success
never signed by the mark in the championship. Taking the thorn of the
first race Mehdi Bennani finished as the first private pilot to get
overcome to James Thompson, who did catch a good performance after losing his great
opportunity in the opening race.
Rob Huff managed to keep his pole position and first pass on the initial angle. Despite the rain, Norbert Michelisz could slow in the first meters to ‘Pechito’ López, something that could not sign a Tiago Monteiro who was overtaken by his main rival in the classification. Broken the triplet of Honda thanks to the ‘Pechito’, Monteiro was located in the fourth position, followed by Yvan Muller. Behind both, and in the second group, were the Lada Vesta and the pilot local Mehdi Bennani, who managed to position itself as the first private pilot ahead of Coronel and Thompson.
From the second lap the race was breaking in a clear manner, with the Honda and Citroën forming a group of five units on head and a second platoon in which equality was greater, which could see interesting fights. However, the only change of position came where a priori less struggle had, since an error of ‘Pechito’ López was left in tray of the third placed Tiago Monteiro. The japanese firm regained the triplet that I had on the grill. Grégoire Demoustier fruit of a out of track remained out of the race at the moment of impact with the protecciones.
Gabriele Tarquini ahead of Hugo Valente in the fight for the sixth
since, with touch mark of the house between the two Lada Vesta WTCC
while ahead of Norbert Michelisz had a bug that
allowed Rob Huff to get a second extra advantage, certifying
almost his victory to a lack of mid-career to the end. Almost to the pair,
James Thompson managed to win the game Tom Colonel after an error
the Dutch, which also allowed Tom Chilton to overtake Colonel.
In this way, both Thompson as Chilton could sneak in the
zone of points.
Outside of this area of the points Nicky Catsburg
he also surpassed Tom Coronel, very off in the rain, as tired
after achieving victory in the first race in Marrakech. The straight
end of the ‘Main Race’ left the fast laps of ‘Pechito’ López and
Gabriele Tarquini, who were trying in this way to give fighter pilots
that had preceded them. However, or ‘Pechito’ managed to threaten the
triplet of Honda or Tarquini got to move closer to a Yvan Muller that
again added a career very gray, as usual from
that began the season in the WTCC.
Without further opposition, Rob Huff
added his second victory with a Sling and headed up the hat-trick of the
official riders of Honda, with Norbert Michelizs second and Tiago
Monteiro third. José María ‘Pechito’ López minimized the damage in a
track is very complicated for a Citroën C-Elysée ballasted to the maximum. Yvan
Muller ended in a world of his partner, just ahead of
Gabriele Tarquini. With Hugo Valente seventh, Mehdi Bennani has been the
best private pilot from the eighth position. Ninth and tenth have been
James Thompson and Nicky Catsburg, because after the race have been excluded
Tom Chilton.
